United Way of Greater Kansas City
United Way of Greater Kansas City’s website had become difficult for their internal teams to manage; as a result it was difficult for users to connect with relevant content. UWGKC’s marketing team approached Clickfarm Interactive looking for a long-term solution – flexible enough to maintain a refocused, growing content base and nimble enough to address their diverse audience’s needs and interests.
Clickfarm responded quickly with a global structural overhaul, content assessment and interface redesign. Long-term, an iterative solution was employed in order to roll out site enhancements at a pace that provided the discovery time and focus necessary to address the needs of both their internal processes and varied audiences.
The initial redesign iteration streamlined paths to key efforts in existing content, including online donations and campaign resources. Other priorities increased focus on the organization’s Cycle of Success model, which reaches out to the community at key stages of life: Healthy Beginnings, Prepared Youth and Thriving Adults and Families. Finally, their multi-tiered donor base was reworked in a way that was both easy to maintain and more interesting than an alphabetical list of donor names.
Clickfarm Interactive leveraged Drupal for the base site build of UWGKC.org, implementing additional functionality to reduce content management workload, including custom CSV uploads for donor groups and form submission integration with Google Drive.
