Amazon makes it easy to shop online
But now they have made it easy for anyone to get more money donated to their favorite charity.
Although created in 2013, a lot of people still have not heard of the initiative called AmazonSmile, which allows customers of Amazon to select the charity that 5% of their dollars spent goes to support. Also, Amazon did not set an upper limit on the amount this will cover, nor did it set a time limit.
Here’s how it works
In case you haven’t used this in the past, all you do is go to Smile.Amazon.com and sign in as you would for Amazon. You will be prompted to select a charity. There are hundreds of national and local charities to choose already on the list.
The process is seamless from this point on. You can change your charity as often as you like or retain loyal to just one group. The site looks and feels exactly like Amazon.com. In fact, the first time I signed into Amazon.com after I signed up for AmazonSmile, the site asked me if I wanted to be redirected to Smile.Amazon.com.
Shopping is fun, especially when 5% of all we spend goes to help others.
